CPC Reopening Update

June 12, 2020

Dear CPC family:

As we prepare to reopen the church campus for a 930am traditional service on Sunday, June 28, know we are excited to see so many of you. We are also waiting patiently a little longer as we prepare to restart in-person worship services at 1100am.

We are grateful that we were quickly able to shift from very little online presence a few months ago to a meaningful worship experience streaming on Sundays along with numerous midweek online ministry offerings. Now we are pivoting to make in-person worship available in a couple weeks AND still provide an excellent worship service at home for the many who join us online. Though the arrival of necessary camera hardware was delayed, we believe that our June 28 reopening goal is achievable. Installing, testing and utilizing these new cameras and computer systems is our next step. Also, we are testing internet capacity as we plan to use overflow rooms on campus in anticipation of further lifting of restrictions by our County following new encouraging data related to Covid-19. This will enable us to accommodate more in-person worshippers who choose to return while following local health guidelines and required social distancing protocol.

Thank you for your prayerful patience as we seek to move the church forward. As you know, there will be a number of restrictions for in-person worship that we must implement with your safety and the safety of others in mind. (Click here for restrictions and what to expect.) We do this as an act of love towards each other in the church family and to our neighbors, with full faith in a good God who promises to care for us (Isaiah 41:10). Sadly, one of those restrictions requires us to limit the number of people in attendance so an advanced reservation will be needed. For those who are ready to return to in-person worship on June 28, we are setting up an Eventbrite account to take reservations beginning Monday, June 22 so be on the lookout for more instructions as that day gets closer.

Also, we will not be holding any in-person mid-week bible studies, meetings or gatherings on campus in the month of June. Discussions with CPC leadership, other local churches and health professionals will continue as we plan the reopening of mid-week events, and we hope to communicate more information soon. We ask for your patience with this as well.

Thank you for being people of peace and unity during difficult times and as many discern their own comfort levels for returning to in-person Sunday worship. We know that God is with us wherever we are.

In Christ,

The Church Reopening Team
