REOPENING PLAN &

IN-PERSON OUTDOOR SUNDAY WORSHIP REQUIREMENTS

Registration​

 

Reservations are required for our Outdoor In-Person Worship Services. The reservation links will be live here on Mondays for the upcoming Sunday. ​ If you plan to attend in-person, please read all of the following details and check back in subsequent weeks as public health guidance remains fluid. Thank you and we look forward to worshiping with you in-person outside!

The following individuals are encouraged not to attend: 

  • Those who fall into a high-risk category according to the CDC (i.e. those over 65 and those with underlying medical conditions).

  • Those who are or have recently been sick.

  • Those who have recently traveled out of state.

  • Those who have any symptoms of coronavirus.

 

Those who wish to attend will be required to register in advance through Eventbrite online. (For registration assistance, please call the church office (831-624-3878) and leave a general message.)

Pre-Service​
  • Entrance from the front brick sidewalk will begin 30 minutes prior to the service.  Except for those needing the elevator, attendees arriving from the parking lot will be directed to go around the church either through the fountain garden or along the Junipero sidewalk to enter the patio from the front brick sidewalk (north side of campus).

  • For those needing the elevator, please plan to arrive early and be seated by the start of the 9:30 or 11:00 service. 

  • Please maintain adequate spacing when lining up for screening. 

  • Participants will be greeted and screened before they enter the patio area. Screeners will:

    • Confirm that each person has registered.

    • Confirm that each person is wearing a mask and offer one if they are not.

    • Ask questions to ensure good health.

    • Take each person's temperature with a non-contact thermometer. Those with temperatures over 100.4 degrees will be asked to go home (based on guidelines from the California Department of Public Health for sending kids home from school).

  • All participants will be required to wear a mask during the worship service. 

  • Hand sanitizer will be available and encouraged.

  • We ask that people greet each other with a “hello” and a smile, but refrain from touching, hugging or handshakes.

  • A white offering box will be available upon entry.

  • Members of the same household may sit together; however, social distancing must be maintained with other congregants.​

  • All participants will be seated by an usher. Seating is planned ahead of the service to help maintain social distance and sanitation of the seats.

During the Service

  • Bibles will not be available so please bring your own.

  • The men's restroom in the breezeway and the women's restroom by the Fireside Room will be open, in addition to the men’s and women’s restrooms in the Children’s Hallway (follow signs down hallway from Fireside Room). Friendship Hall bathrooms will not be available.

  • Movement throughout the campus will be limited.

Post-Service

  • An offering box will be available when exiting.

  • After the service, we will request that all continue to maintain social distancing as they leave the campus. 

Other Changes to Expect

  • Printed bulletins will not be distributed.

  • There will be no choir or singing during the service. (For those who want to stay after the service, we plan to sing on the patio following the end of each service.)

  • There will be no passing of the offering plates, but locked boxes will be available.

  • Communion will be different. More information coming later. 

  • No food or coffee service will be offered before or after the service.

  • Please dress in layers as the patio can be chilly and breezy.

  • No one-on-one prayer wreath time will take place after the service.

  • No childcare, children’s ministry or youth ministry will be offered.

  • The Connect Center will be closed. 

 

 

Note: If anyone becomes sick after attending the service, we ask that you call the church office (831-624-3878) to let us know. And finally, we wish these restrictions and changes were not necessary, and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding. Thanks for reading!
