The heart of Women’s Ministry is to encourage women as they discover the truth about Jesus Christ and grow in awareness of God’s love and power in their lives.

A few ways women can connect are the following:

James & Philemon Study

On January 14, 2021 join the Thursday morning Women in the Word Zoom study in James and Philemon at 9:30AM. The book of James reminds us our walk of faith is not determined by our works but our actions do our life of faith as Christians. The book of James has a well-deserved reputation for providing practical advice, dealing with trials as well as challenging teachings on wealth, anointing with oil, prayer and healing. We’ll also study the book of Philemon with its strong message of forgiveness, especially between those who believe. It gives good insight for viewing all people as equal regardless of the cultural practices of the day.

We’ll be utilizing Bible Discussion Curriculum. If you are already in a WITW small group, you should have received the lessons via email. If you would like to join the study or have questions, please email Paige Roetter at paigeroetter@pjdesign.com.

The Son of David: Seeing Jesus in the Historical Books

by Nancy Guthrie

What kind of king and what kind of kingdom are we asking for when we pray this prayer Jesus taught us? “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10).  A study of the Old Testament Historical Books―Joshua through Esther―enables us to see the kingdom of God not only as it once was, but also as it is now, and as it will be one day.

Over ten weeks of guided study, relevant teaching, and group discussion, seasoned Bible teacher Nancy Guthrie traces the history of the people of God from the time they entered the Promised Land through a series of failed kings, exile, and finally their return to await the true King. We’ll see Jesus as:

  • the greater Joshua who leads his people into rest;

  • the greater Boaz who has done all that is necessary to redeem;

  • the greater King who will sit on David’s throne forever;

  • the greater Restorer who is building his church from ruined stones.

Gain a fresh perspective on Israel’s history and God’s kingdom, a broader understanding of Jesus as the fulfillment of Scripture, and much more in this DVD assisted study.

Please join us on Tuesday, January 26 at 9:30AM for the 10-week study.  A study guide is available on Amazon or at Crossway
