BEAUTIFUL SURRENDER

On Ash Wednesday we enter the season of Lent. What is this time for? Lent comes from the

old English word, lencten, meaning “lengthen” or “springtime.” Spring is a time when the days are lengthening. Lent marks the six-week period before Easter, a time of spiritual growth, a time to stretch our spiritual lives and to lengthen our connection to God. As a church we enter Lent as a season of Beautiful Surrender. Our text is Matthew 5:17-47 and together we explore the beautiful surrender of Jesus, who gave his life for us that we might live for him. In our times together in Lent Groups, we invite the Holy Spirit to lead us in surrendering our ways that we might receive the way of Christ and find our fulfillment in Him.

Join a Lent Small Group

One hour per week for the 5 weeks of Lent we invite you to practice a weekly rhythm of both individual spiritual exercises and community learning about the way of Jesus. An easy way to engage in this practice would be to join one of these small groups listed below (if you aren't in one already). Over the five weeks of Lent, these groups will gather for one hour each week to reflect on a Psalm and a specific spiritual practice as we make space for deeper relationship with Jesus.

We consider Easter Sunday a celebration and we hope you'll stay after the services for homemade

treats, a chance to gather or perhaps meet someone new.

Kids, we haven't forgotten you! Join us for an egg hunt following the 11AM service.

Children's Worship Activity Bags will be available at all services for kids staying in the sanctuary.
