Dear CPC Family,
We know that many of you have questions about wearing masks at Carmel Presbyterian Church after hearing the exciting announcement from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Thursday that people who are fully vaccinated no longer have to wear masks in many indoor situations. Here is the official word from the CDC:
Fully vaccinated people can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance.
For now, we request that all persons still wear a mask while attending church services and other indoor meetings at the church.
At the time of this email, California and Monterey County still require masks for most indoor settings, including church services. We expect that this will soon change. The Church Reopening Team will be meeting on Monday to discuss the latest guidance and Session will review proposed updates to the Church Reopening Plan at their meeting on Tuesday, including any changes to our mask requirements. We will be sure to let you know of any changes to our plans after the Session meeting next week.
We hope to see you in the Sanctuary on Sunday, with masks on. We will also continue livestreaming both the 9:30am and 11:00am services on our Facebook page and YouTube channel. You can read all the details of our current reopening plans at carmelpres.org/reopening. We will see you Sunday! The Church Reopening Team Staff: Tim Yee, Luke Barnes, Bob Spencer, Abby Warburg Laity: Lily Ogden, Matt Bell, Susan Kuhlman
Carmel Presbyterian Church exists to glorify God and make disciples by Connecting People to Christ through small acts of great love every day.
