What We Do

Senior's Ministry
Almost half the members of Carmel Presbyterian Church are Senior Adults, and most of them are active in daily activities and in the church. Almost 60 Senior Adults are in leadership positions, on the Session or Deacon Board, leading Bible studies or small groups, or in a number of other ministry and outreach activities.
The common goal of this group is to bring honor to our Lord in faith and action, and to strongly support the staff and younger members of the congregation. Many seniors are known to be prayer warriors and strong supporters of the church and of mission outreach both near and far.
Some seniors are in declining health and get out less, but most have relatives or close friends in the church family who care for them and see that their needs are met.
The Friendship Circle is a group for seniors who like to get together for some fun about once a month. The program might be a dinner together in a restaurant after Sunday services, or an old-time movie in Westminster Hall. Sometimes a day-trip to a berry farm or a matinee stage production or concert will be planned. Watch for announcements in the bulletin and a sign-up table in the patio to become a part of this fun group.
Rev. Kert Hultgren is the appointed pastor for senior adults. Please contact him by phone or email with suggestions or to share a need, either for yourself or for someone else.
We want our church to be a healing, happy place for the glory of God and for the good of all.
